Manzanita is a naturally forking hardwood that adds character to any aquascape. Shapes vary from gnarled and twisted, to branching pieces with multiple offshoots. The color is blondish, interwoven with dark reddish brown - this attractive contrast between light and dark is enhanced when submerged.
Chemically neutral and very hard, Manzanita holds up well over extended periods of submersion. All of our Manzanita aquarium wood is harvested from private land in Southern California. Each piece is dried and sandblasted to prepare it for aquarium use.

Manzanita is one of the toughest woods nature produces. The natural ridges and twists of Manzanita branches create a stimulating surface for your bird's feet, superior to manufactured perches. Since it is so hard, Manzanita lasts a long time and cleans easily.
We offer Manzanita bird perches in Natural/Red, or Sandblasted. They come in a large variety of diameters and lengths, and are available as single branches or forked branches. They
are also available with preinstalled stainless steel mounting hardware, for attaching to
bird cages.
